DVD to MKV Mac (Mountain Lion Included)

This is a tutorial that explains the process of ripping DVD to MKV(720p) on Mac using Mac DVD ripper. There are many reasons to rip DVD to MKV and for me the main reason is MKV represents high definition and ripping DVD to MKV can keep most of the quality. While there are many other programs to rip DVD to MKV, Mac DVD to MKV ripper provides the easiest solution that even a computer idiot can operate it without problem.

Preparation
Please first download Mac DVD to MKV Ripper(The latest Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion is also supported) and install it. At the same time, close any tasks that are running on your Mac as ripping DVD to MKV takes quite a bit of computer power. And be noted that the whole process takes a while (30 minutes to an hour), so be patient.

Get start

Step 1: Open Mac DVD to MKV Ripper, click the "Load DVD" or "Load IFO" button to load DVD folders/IFO files to the program.

Step 2: Select the video/audio format you want from the "Profile" drop down list. ie. "HD Video > HD MKV Video Format (*.mkv). The resolution is 1280*720p.

Step 3: Set the output destination from "Destination".

 

Step 4: Click the big "Convert" button to start ripping DVD to MKV on Mac.
